However, even though GeSANG was immensly popular, Shuro hated the fact that she was living a lie. She hated how she had to continually live as a man and lie to the world. When she confronted her manager and Kei that she wanted to quit GeSANG, Kei completely flipped out. Shuro was clearly the more popular of the two, and if Shuro quit, it would be the end to GeSANG.
Before the beginning of GeSANG's final concert, Shuro confronts Kei and tells him that she will reveal her secret -- that she is really a woman. Kei objects what she wants and tells her that it's a bad idea. During the concert, Shuro notices that Kei's voice and dance moves have both increased vastly. Kei also notices this, he feels full of energy and better than ever. However... When Kei begins to sing more passionality, the lamps above the audience suddenly breaks and crashes down on the audience; killing them all. Kei, ignoring that many fans were just murdered, begins to say that he felt such a thrill, the fans were enjoying his voice. However, the reason of it all is that he had taken a drug that was part of the C-Genome project, looking for descendants of tennyo (which he was unaware of). People from the project come up to him, asking him to cooperate with him, they promise him that they'll enhance his abilities as a singer and dancer. Kei agrees to this (he also plans on using the Mikage to make GeSANG more popular).
Kei and Shuro get into an argument and Kei finally tells Shuro how envious he was of her. That she was the real star of GeSANG, the voice, the moves, everything. He was always jealous of her power, but now, he also has power. Shuro begins to become upset and couldn't believe he felt that way all this time. She tells him that she's been happy just singing with him; she apologizes and begins to cry.
As the men (who are part of the project) come over to Kei, he follows them. However, as he's walking to the car, he begins to cough up blood and begins to fall (he wasn't a true C-Genome, but a reject) -- but Shuro catches him in time. As Kei is lying in her arms, he gives her a sincere and sorry look, apologizing that he said all those things to her. He may have been jealous of her talent, but he was also happy. He also just wanted to be near her as she did him. He tells her that they'll always be together and then dies peacefully in her arms. Shuro begins to cry in desperation and slowly begins to transform into a full tennyo by singing, grieving over the death of Kei. Aya then comes up to the crying Shuro and tells her that she understands, she understands how much Shuro loved Kei. Shuro then stops singing and she goes back to normal.
